I have a project to do for my daughters school. they cut out a paper doll and i need to dress it up .?

Question by mommyof2daughtersandlovinit: I have a project to do for my daughters school. they cut out a paper doll and i need to dress it up .?
I can dress the doll up in some old cloths of my kids by cutting it out the shape of the doll, but i am not a very good drawer. Where can i go on the internent to draw the eyes nose and mouth on this paper doll. or does anyone have any ideas on how to do the hair and the eyes nose and mouths.
Okay this is my daughters school, but this project is for the parents to do, not my daughter, my daughter is doing her own project in school on her own. . . . → Read More: I have a project to do for my daughters school. they cut out a paper doll and i need to dress it up .?

Question by Alice K: Dollmakers? How do you put yarn hair on?
I’m making cloth dolls and looking for a quicker way to make and apply yarn ‘hair’ than wefting. Any suggestions?

Best answer:

Answer by grannybcedepends on the kind of doll you are making and how long the hair is….actually what ever you do it is going to take time…gluing is not always the best, sometimes looks tacky and rushed

I need a book to teach me about small motors: ones I can put in my cloth dolls and animals to animate them.?

Question by Robin G: I need a book to teach me about small motors: ones I can put in my cloth dolls and animals to animate them.?
I design and make fabric dolls and animals and recently have become fascinated with the idea of animating them. But I know nothing about the types of motors I need to put in them. Everything I’ve tried to search under yields way too sophisticated things such as robotics. I’m looking for simple; like whatever they use in these dogs that walk or the Elmo I just saw that wiggles his hands and feet, holiday characters that move their arms and turn their heads. I’ve looked at some hobby sites and was overwhelmed by the number . . . → Read More: I need a book to teach me about small motors: ones I can put in my cloth dolls and animals to animate them.?

“In regards to making dolls.. cloth/hand sewn or other” If .. I wanted to market them.. how to mass produce?

Question by Leah: “In regards to making dolls.. cloth/hand sewn or other” If .. I wanted to market them.. how to mass produce?

Best answer:

Answer by BrandyDepending on what your target market is…and what quantity you are looking to get…. you could always hire one or two people… provide the materials… show them how you want the dolls made… and pay them per doll. Many people do this when mass producing items for sale (before you can afford to have a whole factory working for you)

What is the book called where the characters are cloth/stuffed dolls pretending to be human?

Question by myself: What is the book called where the characters are cloth/stuffed dolls pretending to be human?
I remember reading this book several years ago, and it was from the “young adult” section of the library.

The basic idea was that there was a group of people who were not flesh and blood humans, but more like living dolls. They were made of cloth and stuffing, but they interacted with the world and pretended to be real. They also had personalities and emotions.

As far as plot goes, I remember one of the men got a job as a night watchman, and a dog bit him. He had to hide the fact that the bite simply ripped open his fabric and revealed . . . → Read More: What is the book called where the characters are cloth/stuffed dolls pretending to be human?

I have a 24″, hand-made, porcelain “Baby Bylo” doll. (I think that that’s how my grandmother spelled it) And I was curious to know how much it might be worth. She has porcelain head and hands and a cloth body. She is dressed in a cotton “christening gown”, also hand-made.
