We sold a composition doll on Ebay, sent it U.S. post office, I know big mistake there , it arrived the eyes fell back in the head. They sent it back at once, got their money back from Pay pall, they did not want to fight with the post office. Wrote to the supervisor of domestic claims numerous times, only answered once, telling us the box does not show damage. We as always wrapped too good and did not use their flat rate box. I have a Madame Alexander Marie Dionne doll that is part of the Dionne Quintuplets collection. She measures 11″ in height, and is all composition. She has sleep-eyes and an open mouth with four little teeth. She isn’t in the best condition, with some cracked markings on her body, and her clothing is not original. How much would you say this doll is worth? I’m looking to sell her. I also have a little picture of the Dionne Quintuplets to go with her- it’s a little pocket mirror with a pic of the five girls in a basket.

i have a antique doll that i want to know more about it was my aunts mom and it got passed down to me i just would like to know a prise or any info on it. she has brown molded hair, composition flange head, partial composition arms and legs, cloth stuffed body, sleep eyes, opened mouth, had two teeth. i know she has to be around 1940s any info would really help thank you

Question by chk: German Baby Doll mark?
I have a 12″ baby doll with jointed, cloth body and some kind of steel pins holding it together. She has a composition head marked Ei.1 Germany. Does anyone know who that manufacturer is? I thought maybe it was a Horseman import, but can’t be sure.

Answer by oldbabesYou need to post a photo of this doll so I can help you id her. It may be the mark needs a pencil rubbed over it so you can see if there are any mold numbers beside the Ei because horseman marked the EIH.

Ok, so now my teacher wants me to dress up as a profession for a project (I thought we just had to do a composition and a stay at home mom was easiest)
I don’t want to put on makeup or make myself look like a tranny…but what kind of hair (fake hair) should I wear and clothes??? I also need some props (like would a large baby doll work? But what else?) And for shoes, what do I wear??? I honestly have no clue:-(.

I have an antique doll. She has a Porcelain head, with jointed composition? body. She was originally bought back from the Boar War in France? (1899-1902). my gramma died a few years ago, may sister found an old doll that gramma got when she was a child, it has the letters A M on her neck, she has a pinkish dress with the weather bean shoes logo on the front, her body seems to be stuffed with straw, and she has a crier box in her back, my sister was told she was from around 1910, any ideas what she would be worth?? i think she is a composition doll, made in germany, but i am not sure
