Pullips are Asain dolls produced by Jun Planning. A new doll is produced every month. Their eyes can move from left to right with an eye mechanism in the back of their head. They can also blink. The posing is limited to bending the arms and legs at a 90 degree angle.

It is very popular to switch Pullip's bodies to 27 cm Obitsu bodies, which you can find here:http://www.junkyspot.com/obindex.html.

Pullips usually cost anywhere from $ 80-130 for recent models. If you want an older one, the prices go up.

Jun planning also produces J-Doll, which has the same body as Pullip, Dal, which is Pullip's little sister, and little Pullip, which don't have jointed bodies. You can find them here:http://pullipstyle.com/

Good luck!

Posing wise--I've heard that the obitsu bodies suit better for posing than the pullip default bodies. You'll mostly likely have to customize it yourself, but there are tutorials for that floating around online.

I don't know too much about them but they come up when I search on ebay for Takara's Jenny doll. They are made in Korea but marketed in Japan. I think that's why they are hard to find in the US and expensive. Jenny is a Japanese doll and also expensive! Pullip is about 9 inches tall, which is a little less than Barbie and Jenny - more like the old Skipper (not the teen version). Pullip is supposedly very articulated, which should make her easy to pose, although I have a Volks doll that is very articulated and his joints are actually too loose. If he wasn't in a stand, he wouldn't be able to stand up alone. Pullips are very diverse, with hair and eye colors that are different for each doll produced (there is a new style every month). Some of the hair colors I've seen are lemon yellow, turquoise, green, and flaming red. I love the funky hair colors, but haven't bought any of the dolls. Amazon has a few in the $ 20 range that are listed as "used". I'd say cruise ebay for a while and just see what's out there before you jump in. That'll give you a feel for what the going rate is and the variety of styles, and then if you still like them, just go for the ones you know you'll like 20 years from now. If you pay more, that's okay because you know you'll still like her. That's better than buying a lot of cheap ones that add up to lots of $ but then you lose interest and really don't have much to show for it.

GENERALLY the BW mark on Ideal dolls was used to signify a doll from the Betsy Wetsy line, although it did usually say Ideal also in the mold markings. They did have a bit of creativity over the years as the line changed and sometimes the body mold from one doll was used for another and the doll name changed slightly, but Ideal was known for using the doll name initials as the mold marks on their dolls (Thus you will find ST on the Shirley Temple dolls, TD on the Tearie Dearie dolls, etc... and the number following the letters usually meant the height in inches). Only thing is, I don't know of a 20" Betsy Wetsy and I am not familiar with the marks on the head of your doll, so it could just be that they used a Betsy body with a new head mold for a different doll. I would need to look at my doll books for confirmation about the exact name and date for your doll (something I can check into in the morning, as it is late and I need to get some sleep now). A picture would definitely be very helpful for me on this one! Pictures can make all the difference with doll ID. Can you update your post with a link to the picture of this doll?

Depends on what type of doll it is.

As the first answer says, 75 years or more. Is quite true.

Barbie is considered vintage before 1978 or close to that year. Any later is considered modern.
(Got that off an answer from one of my questions)

oh, get one of the characters from sodom & gomorrah or maybe lucifer or maybe like, you can just throw a baby doll in a fireplace and say, "see this is what happens to babies born Buddhist" and that can be a sort of action figure in its own right. Homemade.
